Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Our procedure for reducing wrinkles involves the use of small amounts of Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX™), which is injected into specific muscles using a fine needle. This technique helps to smooth out lines and wrinkles by temporarily immobilizing the muscles responsible for their formation. By preventing muscle contractions that lead to tugging at the skin creating creases, it naturally softens dynamic lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more rejuvenated appearance.

Anti-wrinkle injections are most effective and look most natural when used to target lines that have not yet fully deepened. For this reason, they are often referred to as a preventative treatment, by preventing further deepening of lines that have started to form. While anti-wrinkle injections can slightly reduce the appearance of deep, fixed lines, they may not completely eliminate them. Treating static lines would involve addressing the skin, using medical care skincare, micro-needling, laser, or dermal fillers. Wherever necessary, we will direct you towards a more suitable treatment option, if antiwrinkle injections are not appropriate for you.

Botulinum Toxin is the most popular cosmetic treatment worldwide, and its safety profile for both medical and cosmetic use is supported by extensive long-term data.

When administered correctly, the effects of Botox typically last for 3 to 4 months. However, individual factors can influence the duration, and some individuals may experience longer or shorter effects. The procedure itself is generally not painful, as fine needles are used. If desired, a numbing cream can be applied to the area beforehand to ensure a comfortable experience. Injections take up to 2 weeks to take effect, when a follow-up will be arranged to make any corrections.

Antiwrinkle injections can also be used to target specific muscles elsewhere in the face. Examples include: treating a downward smile, treating bunny lines, relaxing the masseters to help with jaw clenching or relaxing the muscles that cause tugging of the skin in the neck. They can also be used to target sweat glands in the skin and reduce excess sweating in the hands or underarms.
