Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are an injectable substance with a gel-like consistency, containing stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid that is compatible with human tissues and closely resembles the body's natural hyaluronic acid. Fillers are commonly used in facial aesthetics to restore lost volume which is a frequent side effect of natural ageing, or to enhance certain features, such as the lips, or contour the face.

When aiming for a more rejuvenated look, dermal filler can be used to re-volumise certain fat compartments in the face, or offer structure to areas that may have lost it through fat, tissue and bone loss. It is a common concern amongst our patients, to not look “done”. It is one of the core beliefs in our clinic that cosmetic injections should be invisible, and enhance your natural features. This is also relevant when a filler is used for beautification purposes, such as profile harmonisation or contouring.

While dermal fillers are long-lasting, they are not permanent, and the effects of a single treatment typically last between 6 to 18 months. In saying this, there are many studies to suggest filler can last much longer, and in some cases persist for decades. As such, the quality of the filler, and how it is injected into your delicate features, make a dramatic difference to long-term outcomes.

It is important to remember that faces change over time, and there is huge variability in the longevity of filler in different people. Each time you visit, we will reassess your facial features to ensure long-term facial harmony and natural results.
